Third match in this year's Winter league, but in actuallity only the second, as the match at Hall Lane had to be cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions, ie, storm force winds.
Today was much more pleasant with little breeze and blue skies for most of the day.
Fifteen of our members made the trip to Bolton today with the match being pegged by Alan & James, the draw got underway at 8.30am and the match scheduled to fish 10.00 - 3.00pm.
Quite a few different methods were on show today from anglers, some preferring rod, some pole, some fishing down the side others, 7-10 metres out, some shallow, some not. Baits also varied, although in the main it was either pellet, maggot or corn.
Pegs on the West bank who had sun for most of the day fared better weight wise, with top four being on that side.
Mark Davies had the draw gods on his side again, having got golden peg three matches in a row! Although the previous match was cancelled.
All anglers had a decent day and at the all-out the results came in as shown below.
Didn't expect 100+ pounds today, but Alan soon showed us the way!
Hard luck to Mark who with golden peg ended up in third place, James was second and as mentioned Alan took the win today.
In two weeks time on 3rd November we will be at Fir Tree Fishery for our penultimate Winter league match, hope to see you there.
