Third match and again in Lancashire on what was a lovely Autumn day, pleasantly mild, little to no breeze, air temperature about thirteen degrees.
Twenty six anglers turned out for the match and with ultra efficiency the pegging was done by Alan and James swiftly followed by the draw and the match set for a 10.00am start.
The match duly got underway with Golden Peg today being drawn by Neil Pritchard on peg six.
Almost straight away anglers were catching and this continued throughout the match. At the all-out everyone was pleased with the day and the venue, so will be booking again for another Winter match, we also have it next Spring, so that should be interesting.
All results shown below from the day's match. Highlight (or lowlight depending on your view) was Mark Davies our match winner getting his kit off and getting in the pool to retrieve a pole section. After several minutes of trying, he gave up due to the cold water before he got hypothermia.
Total weight caught today was 780lb 6oz which is a good Winter weight and averages out at 30lb per angler.
Special mention to Junior member Kieran Charnock who fished today and finished in an excellent third place.
Bonfire night we are at Wrightington so those fishing, we will see you there!
