Spring League 2016 - Lloyd's Meadow - 09/04/16

Seems like ages since our last league back in December 2015, now we are back and refreshed for our 2016 Spring League.
Slight change in that we have an 'A' and a 'B' league this year due to number of anglers being catered for. 'A' for the match anglers and 'B' for the more leisurely angler, only four contested 'B' today and winner took all on their pool (Fox Pool).
Many thanks to Danny and Sarah at Lloyd's Meadow for catering for our hastily organised 'B' league, giving four anglers Fox Pool to themselves.
Twenty Seven anglers turned out to what was a pleasant day, getting up to about 13 degree's, but felt a tad warmer when the sun appeared. Had a few spots of rain at times but nothing significant.
Sarah kindly cooked breakfast for our lads which was appreciated, then Alan, James & Roly pegged out the pools.
Had a leisurely start with all-in set for 10.30am. Having four members on Fox Pool we had the remaining twenty three on Badger which was a comfortable number.
All-in duly sounded at 10.30am, no trauma's today other than a few tangling with the flora and fauna, notably Roly and Steve Richardson to name two!
Much appreciated by members, Danny the fishery owner came round and offered tips to anglers on their respective pegs, paid off well for Ken on peg 9 who didn't catch anything significant until Danny gave him advise, after that he soon started bagging and ended up in third place today.
Following all-out at 3.30pm Alan and James commenced the weigh-in with our nice new digital scales.
Golden Peg today was John Osborne the dreaded curse of the golden peg continues, who will be the lucky recipient next time (not).
Congrats to all who fished the match in particular our top three Mark, Mark and Ken on Badger and Mike, Joe and Dave on Fox.
Below you can see the weights which were pretty decent, although you will notice the big weights were located quite close to each other.
Important note, peg numbers below are our peg numbers and don't necessarily reflect the venue peg numbers.
Thanks once again to Danny and Sarah our hosts for all of their help.
Next match is at Blundell's Farm in three weeks, look forward to seeing you there.

See you all soon......Tightlines.....
