Summer League - Solhampton Fishery - Valley Pool - 11th July 2015

First coach trip of this Summer saw us travel down to Solhampton near to Stourport on Severn in the county of Worcestershire.
Our driver and club member Colin decided to bring his new coach which had loads more seats and less storage which was fun to organise, allied to the fact that he pointed out his air conditioning wasn't working. So nineteen of us climbed on board the mobile steam room and travelled directly to Solhampton where we had our breakfast. Oh add to the fact no toilet on board.
Match referee organised the pegging and the draw quickly took place and the match was scheduled for 10.30 - 3.30. The weather today held up pretty well with sun in the morning and partial cloud and a light breeze in the afternoon, air temperature got to about 22 degrees.
Although not our biggest fish Mike Roylance netted an 11lb 8oz Carp which took an age to land, but it was landed successfully by Mike.
Following the all out signal at 3.30 Alan, Roly and James did the weigh-in, the results you can see below.
Well done to Alan again for smashing the 100lb barrier, hard luck to Jim who drew Golden Peg today and finished in sixteenth place, the curse continues. Alan was on pellet and paste today which worked for him in his corner peg.
The coach was reloaded and it was off on a 20 minute drive to the pub (Mitre Oak) where we had a pleasant evening eating drinking and generally taking the p*ss out of each other along with paying out Alan, Paul M and Rob the top three in today's match.
Colin our driver called time at 7pm and it was off home stopping off at Stafford services for a gentleman's excuse me and a chance for Paul Roby to go to Burger King, as one tea wasn't enough. IT also gave us chance to breathe fresh air before completing our journey. Rumour has it Mr Roby was going to the chippy on the way home as well!
Final parting shot to our driver before he drove away . . . bring the old coach next time!
All in all, a fun day with a load of great mates. Our next match is the last of our Summer Sizzlers next Sunday 19th July at Meadow View, draw at 4pm, fish 5pm - 9pm. Hope to see you there, or if not,

See you on a match soon.
