First of our three Summer Sizzlers for this year, held once again at Meadow View on Lark Pool.
The weather today started under blue skies with a brisk breeze and as the evening wore onwe had a few rain/hail showers but nothing too serious. Luckily the rain faded away and blue skies returned in time for the weigh-in.
Fifteen anglers made it to the match today in time for the 4pm draw, we welcomed new member Barry Ward and returning member Peter Mahoney to the club.
Alan and James sorted the pegging, the draw was on time at 4pm and everyone prepared for the match which was of four hour duration from 5pm until 9pm.
Due to the stiff and sometimes blustery breeze travelling down the pool at 90 degree's to the anglers, many preferred to fish the rod, whilst many alternated between the two.
As is usual on this venue popular baits today were pellet, corn and luncheon meat.
Following the conclusion of the match Alan and James did the weigh-in and some good weights were had and in total almost 500lb was caught in this four hour match.
Well done to all of our anglers in particular to our top three of Dave Newton, Mark Whiteside and Ken Whibley.
Our next regular match is on Saturday 6th June at Blake Hall, our next 'Sizzler' is on Sunday 28th June, same time, same place.
See you on a match soon.
