Summer League - Cob House Fishery - Wyatt's Pool - 8th August 2015

Second of our two coach trips for this Summer. Your's truly wasn't on the coach although at the match as I was driving on to Tewkesbury for our week on the 'Jolly Boys trip'!
Weather today was a proper Summer day getting in to the mid twenties celsius.
First thing on the agenda was breakfast in the mayfly cafe which i believe was quitea tasty one (that'll keep the members happy).
After a debacle with the bailiff the match was arrabged to fish 10.30 - 3.30.
Alan and James sorted the pegging and the draw commenced.
Given that this match was booked two years ago when this pool was at it's prime, today was disappointing with weights below half of what we would have expected two years ago.
That said, some member still broke tackle including Mike Roylance, Peter Jones and others I can't recall ( it was a week ago!).
Taking of Peter Jones he even had Superman aka Kev Smith who was pegged next to him to net two of his fish! Good job we are a frienldy bunch, although match referee Roly wasn't too happy, but fish welfare came first.
The match concluded at 3.30pm and the weigh-in completed by Alan, John, James and Phil. Nets were put back (by most) at the request of the bailiff and neatly stacked as requested by said bailiff.
Golden peg was drawn today by our driver, Colin, who came in ninth place, so Golden Peg remains safe again.
As I mentioned earlier I wasn't on coach trip so missed the meal at Mitre Oak and the journey back, however sources tell me Paul Roby has come out of the closet as a wine buff, necking a bottle of red and several pints before alighting the coach. On the subject of red, a very red Mike Roylance remained quiet on the coach suffering from a day in the sun with his shirt off going from lily white to bright red in five hours. I'm sure it was a funny trip home, it usually is.
Below you can see the results, next match is Bank Holiday weekend on 29th August when we are on a local venue at Partridge Lakes on Covey 6, for those fishing, look forward to seeing you there.

See you on a match soon.
