Junior Summer League - Meadow View - Linnet Pool - 21st August 2013

Penultimate match in this year's Junior league and we were at Meadow View, Lymm on Linnet Pool.
Thanks once again to Margaret and Dave Berry for supporting us once again this year.
Weather was quite mild today with overcast skies and threatening rain, which apart from a few spots, fortunately didn't materialise.
Due to work commitments our papparazzi wasn't able to stay today so the match report has been kindly compiled by 'Pistol' Pete Mahoney who did a sterling job in the absence of others and completely unbiased.
We had seven Juniors on the match with some away on holiday, all those fishing caught and had a great day.
The draw took place and everyone was ready in good time so all-in was brought forward from 11.00am to 10.30am and fished til 2.00pm.
Baits as usual for this venue were maggots, sweetcorn and pellet.
Part way through the match Chairman Frank did the 'chippy run', and was enjoyed by all as our BBQ wasn't available today.
Ed started off well catching four Carp in quick succession, then his peg just switched off. Methods today was mainly pole close in to the bank and also 6-7 metres out. Jude was switching between waggler and pole and was consistent throughout the match. Jordan got snapped twice losing a 'big un' which took his rig which was made up mainly of 0.19 line! Could have been biggest fish 'if only'!
After consistent feeding with the catapult Ste Clarke saw his peg boiling so made up a shallow rig and with a little more feed hooked and bagged a Carp.
Ethan kept his head down all day and stuck to his guns which payed off for him. Alex tried a few methods throughout the match with varying success.

All out at 2.00pm and Jordan edged the lead to start with and had at that time biggest fish until getting to Ethan who stormed the match with 23lb 2oz and also biggest fish so far this season of 5lb 6oz.
Well done to all those who fished, we hoped you enjoyed your day. We will do it all again on 7th September at Whitegate which is our season finale, and looking at the points anyone in the top four places could win. Another exciting season.
Finally thanks again to Pete Mahoney for providing the above words, we think you have got the job Shakespeare!

See you on the next match

That's it for now,
