Junior Summer League - Brownlee's Pool - 8th June 2013

The first of this season's Junior League matches and traditionally we start on our Brownlee's Pool. The weather today was ideal with Blue skies and an air temperature of about 20 degrees and negligible breeze.
Nine of our Juniors came along to contest the match and as usual we had good support from parents who stayed on hand to help out and of course enjoy our BBQ which we have at most matches and served up by Angela our chef.
The draw took place at 9.15am and the match fished from 10.00 until 1.00pm.
The previous night we ran our new aerator for a couple of hours to freshen up the water and at the match today it seemed to have helped, with all anglers catching and no blankers! Bait varied from meat, pellet, corn and maggot but the Crucian Carp were hungry as were the Roach and Skimmers, so everyone had a good day.
Anglers and parents enjoyed the Bacon Butties, Hot Dogs and Burgers along with pop, Tea and Coffee, with decent weights and everyone catching everyone was happy and we now wait three weeks then the Junior League moves to Moss Side Farm near Irlam for our second match.
Well done to all of our anglers today and in particular to our top three Matthew, Ethan and Alex and to Jude who fished his first match today and got a very good 1lb 10oz earning him 7th place overall.
We all look forward now to 29th June and our next match.

That's it for now,

See you all soon......Tightlines.....
