Penultimate match today at Meadow View, only one more match after this at Whitegate and the league is still undecided.
Eleven Juniors fished today with at least another four on holiday, so not a bad turn out. Also not bad today was the weather, generally overcast with a light breeze and a couple of very light showers, it was a good day for fishing.
As everyone was ready early, all-in was at 10.30am and the match fished until 2.00pm. We had our BBQ on hand with our chef Angela so everyone was fed bacon butties, hot dogs and burgers, along with liquid refreshment!
Not unexpected was that the biggest fish so far this year was caught today by Callum who was also joint winner of the match. Of course we still have one more match to go at Whitegate, but it might be a struggle beating todays weight of 7lb 9oz.
Most Juniors caught today and several members had decent size fish in excess of 4lbs, including, Ethan, Tom R, Kieran and Shaun. Bait today was a mixture of allsorts from Maggots, pellet and one of our winners was fishing with meat which today was successful.
One strange event was Ethan losing a big fish along with his rig only for seconds later for Callum to hook Ethans broken rig and landed the fish. Ethan got his rig back but Callum kept the fish.
Ollie had a difficult day with the loss of a few rigs and breaking a top two as well......Give the bill to your dad Ollie!
Our next and final match for Juniors this Summer is on Saturday 8th September at our Whitegate Pool, meet poolside at 9.00am.
