Last match for our Summer League and last in our Matchman League which covers Winter, Spring and Summer Leagues so fifteen matches seem to have flown by since we started this season back in October 2011.
Today we were at Blake Hall in Staffordshire with twenty five members both Adults and three Juniors also fishing the match.
As it's Blake Hall it always starts with a breakfast after our usual meeting time of 8.00am then a trip to the bait shop and then the draw for the match.
We were all sweating today as Alan got the Golden Peg and his win rate is second to none, so we thought we were going to be £200 lighter, but of course, the curse struck and the money continues to roll up.
The draw took place and the match was fished from 10.00am until 3.00pm.
Although most people caught, it wasn't our best match on this water, even though the weather turned out fine for those on the sunny side of the pool and a bit nippy for those sat in the shade, fishing was tough. It appeared maggot was the most widely accepted bait for catching today. It seemed it all got a little too much for one angler who decided to snap his rod in frustration, we won't name him here, but many shared the same frustration although didn't vent it out on the tackle.
The match concluded at 3.00pm and Alan and James conducted the weigh-in.
Well done to all those that fished today especially our Juniors who had a great day with some showing the adults how to fish!
The leagues are all decided, the trophies have gone off to the engravers and all the razzmatazz will take place on our Prize Night at Roosters Club on Friday 5th October. We look forward to seeing you all there, and don't forget the new season starts on Saturday 13th October at Blundell's Farm.
