The second of our Summer Sizzlers and weatherwise today it was a sizzler with Blue skies, sun, virtually no breeze and an air temperature in the mid 20's it was a lovely day/evening.
We had thirteen members fish this evening with a couple of additional anglers who fished but are not included in our league as they are non-members.
As is customary with these matches, the draw took place at 4pm and we fished 5 - 9pm.
Having heard the results of the day match with the winner having 103lb everyone was optimistic as to what we could expect. As it turned out we had reasonable weights but only half the weight of the day match.
Everyone caught, even those who chose not to weigh-in. The usual baits, pellet, corn and worm being favourite.
Congratulations to our top three, Alan, Ethan and Steven. In particular to Ethan and Steven who are Junior members and this evening showed most others in the match how to fish! Hard Luck to Ethan as he was pipped into second place by only four ounces. Well done also to Tom Dulson, another of our Juniors who fished his first Senior match today, great effort.
That's it for our second Summer Sizzler Sunday match, the final one for 2011 is on the 24th July, same time, same place, hope to see you there. Before that of course, our regular Summer League continues on 16th July at Larford Lakes Fishery, which is the second of our three coach trips this year and are always fun. The next Junior match is on Saturday 9th July at our Brownlee's Pool.
