Not the favourite venue if you listened to our members today! However we got a relatively close match which was good to see and the majority of anglers caught. Good to see Adam 'sweetcorn' Hill back after his tour of the USA.
Everyone arrived for 8.00am except for Roly who got lost in the dark!
The cafe wasn't open straight away which hacked a few folk off, it did open by 9.00am so the hungry members did feed themselves before the match started.
The weather today was dry to start but with a rainy spell for an hour, we did have a breeze which affected some of the pegs more than others.
Following the draw and a leisurely hour and a half to set up, the match started promptly at 10.00am for the usual five hour duration.
Members had their friendly banter, none of which is suitable for putting in writing here. George Osborne had the Golden Peg today and it surely was cursed. Part way through the match the legs of his seatbox fell through his peg and tipped him off like a stubborn mule! George ended up on the deck and partly immersed in the water. Fortunately apart from getting a little damp George was fine, thanks to Mike Roylance who went to his assistance. Trouper George emptied his wellies and battled on to a well earned fifth place. Oh, forgot to say he also landed on his pole which snapped a section, so it was an expensive day for George.....He could have done with the Golden Peg win!
The match concluded at 3.00pm followed soon after by the weigh-in. Well done to everyone in particular our top three of Kev, Roly and Tom. See you all at Lathom on 12th November, don't forget to pack your woolies.
