Our last Summer match today and we were at Blundell's Farm, Rixton.
Some members met up in the cafe around the corner for a healthy breakfast and a brew (that's tea or coffee to you and I).
We all met at the fishery at 8.00am and after the draw the match started at 10.00am and fished until 3.00pm.
Eighteen members fished today and the weather was predominantly fine with a few heavy showers for good measure.
For the second time this Summer one of our members (Paul Roby this time) decided to dive backwards into the pool. Unfortunately your reporter was not there to see it nor capture it on camera. If this carries on we will have to consider starting a swimming team! Paul has now earned a new nickname of 'Roby Dick' which i'm sure will stay with him. Would just like to point out that other than getting wet, he was fine.
Jim Bates drew the Golden Peg today which continues to roll over to the next match as Jim didn't win and managed 15th place today, better luck next time Jim.
Congratulations to our match winner James Bryan. The leagues are now complete and you can view the results elsewhere on the website.
Next event is our Prize Night which takes place on Friday 7th October, we look forward to seeing you there (Roosters Club, Warrington, 7.30pm).
Our new fishing year starts with our Winter League which begins at Lloyd's Meadow on 15th October 2011. Look forward to seeing you there...
That's it for now,
See you all soon......Tightlines.....
