Second winter league match with 15 anglers turning out for this short journey to Partridge Lakes, Culcheth, Warrington. Weather was kind with sunny skies, there was a cool southerly breeze which most anglers were protected from behind trees, however end pegs particularly low numbers suffered more.
After our compulsory breakfast (at least for most of us), we did the draw and hiked to our pool. All-in was leisurely going in at 10.00am and fishing until 3.00pm. Unlucky today was Roly who drew the Golden Peg although on the day got a respectable 4lb 1oz it wasn't quite enough to get the money!
Star of the day in his first Winter match this year was James Bryan hauling out 37lb 6oz, second Wing Commander Ken with 14lb and hopalong Paul Muir with 13lb 4oz. "Hope the foot is better soon Mr M", and we saw you using child labour to carry your tackle! No real incidents at this match, it all passed quite smoothly. A few members called at the General Elliott pub on the way home for a swift one (Frank, Roly, Alan, James, Paul R and Paul B).
Only seven days until the next match at Charity Farm where we are on Pool One. Hope to see you there, as usual at 8.00am
That's it for now,
See you all soon......Tightlines.....
