Our final Spring League match took place today in gloriously sunny weather, blue skies and no breeze to speak of deep in the Cheshire countryside at Partridge Lakes.
Eighteen members fished today and improved their suntans at the same time. Fishing was patchy although everyone caught, bait varied from maggot to sweetcorn to pellet depending on where you were fishing.
Todays Golden Peg was selected by Roy Sutton who was instantly 'cursed' and achieved unlucky 13th in today's match, hard luck Roy.
The Spring League is over for another year, congratulations to this year's winner Alan Lamb
who sneaked through on this last match to pip Mike Roylance who finished on 25 points after fighting hard but only getting 5th place in today's match. Third in this year's Spring League went to Kev Smith on a total of 20 points.
Well done to everyone for the good sportsmanship shown throughout the matches and it's now on with the Summer League which starts at Weston Pools on Saturday 19th June, or also our short series of three Sunday evening matches which all take place at Meadow View, the first match is on Sunday 6th June with the match lasting four hours from 5pm to 9pm.
