As an exercise we have decided to try a series of three Sunday Evening Matches. All of them taking place at Meadow View on Lark Pool.
Thanks to Margaret & Dave Berry for allowing us to organise this at such short notice. Each match starts at 5pm and finishes at 9pm.
Our first match today was excellent, with the rain that was forecast holding off, and the weights considering it was a four hour match were also very good. In fact the winning weight on this four hour match was higher than the winning weight on the same pool which only finished at 3pm this afternoon!
Seventeen members adjusted their body clocks so they could fish in the evening (ha ha). Most fished on pellet or corn, the top two anglers in this match fished pole on no more than four sections, no need for 16 metres today.
As you will see below the weights were very good all round the pool.
Considering this was a first for us fishing during the evening, if this is the way they are going to fish, we can look forward to come crackin' matches through this Sunday Evening Series.
Congratulations to John Bryan for winning this first Sunday match, it was a close battle to the end with Tom who started catching more towards the end, five hours would have possibly seen Tom winning.
Well done also to three of our Junior members who stepped up to fish this match. Particularly to Liam Lynskeywho finished a creditable 8th, with Josh Turner in 9th and Josh Waring in 13th. Good to see you fishing, hope to see you on more matches (both Junior and Senior).
The second match takes place on Sunday 13th June (next weekend) and the final Sunday match takes place on Sunday 25th July.
Look forward to seeing you on the next match...
