Today saw the last Junior match for 2010, and the first match that we have had rain.....Boy did it rain!
It certainly didn't stop the enthusiasm of our Juniors, ten turned out today for this our final match of the year.
As we usually see, it all happens on the last match, our biggest fish record caught on an earlier match at Brownlee's was broken twice in the space of ten minutes today. First Leon caught a 4lb 9oz 8drm Carp, only to be beaten a while later by Joe who had a 5lb 4oz Carp, which also carried him to victory in this match.
Other than the heavy rain downpours which affected most of the match, the breeze was hardly noticeable and the temperature a balmy 18 degrees. Our chef Ken was on other duties today, so the BBQ was put away til' next year, instead we all had a chippy lunch, thanks to our friends in Golden City Chippy, Liverpool Rd, Warrington for supplying the tasty chips!
We would like to thank all the Juniors for their support through the season and the friendly manner in which they fished the matches. To all the parents, some of whom have remained at the matches, your support is also appreciated. That's it for another year. Don't forget we have our Presentation Night at Roosters Club on Friday 1st October, we hope to see everyone there for a night of fun, awards, prizes, games, raffle and food etc. The evening is free for Junior members, adults £5 which includes a hot buffet, you can pay on the door. The fun starts at 7.30pm.
