For this special event we decided that the only place to go was Larford Lakes. So off we went in the coach, first stop was the A5 Truckstop (aka Greasy Lil's) for a gutbuster breakfast to start the day off.
As there was no Golden Peg on this match as it wasn't a league match we decided to have a guess the highest and lowest weight competition.The winner of course being announced after the match.
We arrived at Larford at 9.00am and had a leasurely start with all-in being at 10.45am.
The day passed reasonably uneventful with the exception of a few members going for a slide down the bank, although none ended up in the water. Colin our coach driver managed to loose his spectacles under the peg, but one of the staff went in to retrieve them for him.
Everyone caught which we expected at this great venue. When all-out came there was a clear winner with Ian Armstrong bagging 92lb 8oz.
Well done to everyone, we all had a great day's fishing. To continue the celebrations it was off to the Black Star Pub in Stourport for food and a few beers. Jez the landlord was on hand to ensure everything ran smoothly, which it did. After a few beers, a good meal and a few games of killer pool, it was off back to the coach and homeward bound.
The trip back was full of the usual jokes and sing alongs headed by Roly and Frank. You will need to watch the video!
We arrived back home about 10.00pm after a cracking day with some good mates, good fishing, good beer and good food, what more could you want...

Oh yes forgot to say that the winner of guess the weight for the highest weight was Kev Smith who guessed 93lb 1oz, the actual winning weight was 92lb 8oz, the lowest weight was won by Neil Davies who guessed 6lb 0oz, the lowest actual weight was 6lb 1oz. Last but not least well done to Ian Armstrong who won with 92lb 8oz.

As an interesting fact the total weight caught at this match was 671lb 1oz, "bet you wanted to know that!".
