Our fourth match in this year's Junior League took us to our first commercial fishery, Blundell's Farm, Rixton, Near Irlam.
Fifteen Junior members turned out in what has become typical British Summer weather, ie, Rain!
Today we were fishing on 'Pine Pool' and peg numbers 59 through to 73.
The match started at 11.00am and fished until 2pm.
As usual lunch and refreshments were provided, today it was the turn of the local chippy. They thought we were joking when we asked for twenty six bags of chips!
After three hours, the weigh-in saw an outright winner with 11lb 1oz and that was Ben Green, second was Sam Hughes on 9lb 8oz and third place was William Armstrong on 5lb 11oz. Commiserations to Hannah Rowlands who was beaten into fourth place by half an ounce, cruel luck, more so because her dad Paul was the scalesman, as ever ensuring everything was above board and fair.
Well done to everyone, hope you enjoyed the match along with the food and drink. Look forward to seeing you all again on Saturday 16th August when we will be fishing on our second and final commercial fishery this year, that is Partridge Lakes at Risley, see you there...
