Last match of the season for our Juniors and today we were on our Whitegate Pool. The weather was kind today, starting cloudy and brightening up with a few sunny intervals temperature was about 18 decrees centigrade.
Today we had fourteen members fishing, we did of course have our usual barbeque with our resident chef Ken in charge of sausage and burger production. Thanks for your efforts Ken!
All anglers with one exception caught, with the biggest fish being landed today by Sam Dolan, well done Sam. He caught a 5lb 7oz 8drm Mirror Carp which you will see him proudly holding in the photo gallery of todays match. Not only does it get him the biggest fish trophy which he will receive at our presentation night on 5th October, it also won him todays match, so bit of a double whammy there! Second today was Ethan Neary who was fishing his first match as a club member, so he has got off to a storming start, let's hope he can continue this next season. Unfortunately he did go from hero to zero at one stage. First he got a 3lb + Leather Carp, then he broke his pole, ah well, put it on the Christmas list! At least you got your three pounder first.
As we said earlier this has been the last of the six matches for this years Junior League and a closely fought contest it was too as you will see in the points below, well done to everyone who fished, we hope you had a great time, stay safe and we hope to see you again on our pools or at the 2008 matches.
