Considering the amount of rain we have had this Summer, we managed to avoid it at this match, we even had the sun breaking through for the last couple of hours!.
There was however an annoying breeze which was gusty, and depending where your peg was had an impact on your days fishing.
We had twenty three members fishing today which was an excellent turnout and it all started at 8.00am with a hearty breakfast in the cafe!
We had a lazy start with all-in being at 10.00am and fishing until 3.00pm.
The Environment Agency were again visiting and checking Rod Licences. Some members had longer 'conversations' than others if you know what we mean!! In the end everyone was OK and the 'EA' went away happy.
Having seen the recent results on the Penninsula Lake, we were all expecting a day 'bagging up'.
As is the POHAS way, this was not to be as you can see from the results below although we had no 'blanko's'.
The Golden Peg remains intact and in the bank, as Frank Davies was the unfortunate soul cursed with it today, although he had a creditable 7th place which is his best for a while.
Well done to our winner Alan Lamb who won the match with 39lb 4oz.
Thanks to everyone for a great day and the usual friendly banter, although your webmaster didn't hear much as the wind made it a little difficult to say the least.
The league moves on to Moorlands Farm on 4th August, let's see what that venue holds for us.....See you there! |
