First match of the 2006 Spring League started off on a suprisingly sunny day, considering it was a bank holiday weekend.
We had 18 members fishing. As we had 7 members eligible for our 'new' Intermediate league this was the inaugural match for them.
Biggest single catch of the day was a 9lb 5oz Carp caught by Neil Davies, well done Neil, who also took the match win (well done again).
We had the usual friendly banter flowing around the pool, with Frank & Taffy's 'secret bait', that most people seemed to have!
Dan Chesterson had a landing net that disappeared to the bottom, never to be seen again.
Neil Turner had a horrendous first 10 minutes with two rigs getting snagged on the island. Followed by a third which saw his top two flying like an exocet across the water when another rig got snagged and the brute force to try and save it led to the low flying top two.
The entertainment continued at the end of the match when Captain Turner and his able mate (seafaring term, not his err actual 'mate') Pete Edwards took to the water in a boat to retrieve Neil's top two.
Discussions continued after the match in the White Lion Pub, except for Roly who took a wrong turn and went home to watch the rugby..
You can see below all the placings, well done everyone. Next match in two weeks at Brookside, see you all there.

The first issue is from our winner at this match Neil Davies (click here) to read about his setup. We hope you learn from his detailed report. This can also be viewed via the forum where it was initially posted.
