Third Winter League match and today we were as near to home as we can be at Partridge Lakes.
Twenty five anglers turned out for this match on what was to be a tough day's fishing not only on our pools, but across the complex.
James, John and Roly sorted out the pegging in time for the draw at 8.30am.
Golden Peg today was drawn as Marsh Canal peg 22 which was supposed to be Mike Lewis, however Mike and Peter Jones got confused and sat on each others pegs, so effectively Peter had Golden Peg. Fortunately it didn't cause a problem as neither won!
The weather today was a relatively mild 15 degree's C (60 degree's F), but there was a hefty breeze blowing down Spey Canal in particular, Marsh Canal was partly shielded due to the tree's. This possible affecting the eventual outcome with the top four coming off Marsh Canal.
Our five hour match began at 10 and finished at 3. Colin our driver broke a section, but that is pretty standard for most matches! Golden Peg remained safe as you will see from the results below. Our winner today was Neil Pritchard who won by some margin with 29lb 4oz. His first win with our club I do believe, this takes him currently to the top of both our Winter and Matchman League, so well done Neil! That coaching off venue expert Andy Bennett sure paid off!
Our next match is at Blundell's Farm in two weeks, look forward to another great match.
See you all soon.
