Back at Brownlee's today for our third Junior match and it really was a Summer match today with temperatures up at 24 degree's, blue skies, sun and very little breeze, it was a scorcher.
Seven Juniors today battled it out, all on the pole and various baits from maggot, corn, pellet & worm. All worked to one degree or another and the good thing was everyone caught with Roach and Crucians being the main catch and we had one baby eel for good measure. Kieran also had a nice Tench to bulk up his catch today.
Some found their swim tougher than others but today was Alex's day on peg three with a hard fought 5lb 9oz. The 'Charnock boys' coming in second and third with younger brother Kieran getting bragging rights over older brother Leon. But it doesn't matter as everyone had a good match and tried their best. As usual Tom's Mum (Angela) was on hand to provide BBQ services so everyone had their fill of Bacon butties, sausage butties and burgers.
Thanks to our senior members who helped and coached on the day, Alan, James, John, Joe, Neil and Roly and to the parents who also helped and did the transporting, thanks for your support.
The next match is back on a commercial at Meadow View on Wednesday 21st August, be there for 9.30am, the match will fish from 11.00 - 2.00pm.
