3rd November 2019 - Facebook Update
Quick update for members and friends.
As well as Penketh & Old Hall Angling Society facebook page, we have now replaced our 'pohas seniors' page, as it was a closed group and unfortunately we couldn't get access to change it, having tried to communicate with Facebook without success.
So we now have 'pohas match group' which is primarily for any of our members who fish matches or members who would like to fish matches to put their comments, this is an open group available to anyone.
As it is an 'open' group, we would appreciate that no bad language or profanities or derogatory comments of any kind be posted. Any such posts will be deleted.
Thanks for cooperating.
Tell your angling friends about the page, they may like it.
We will stop adding items to pohas seniors page at the end of November. Members in the old group we suggest you remove yourself to save any confusion.

13th August 2019 - Final Coach Trip
As most match members will know, this Saturday see's the last ever POHAS coach trip.
We have had some great trips over the years, many of them thanks to Colin and his company Tarbock Travel.
Colin sold his company last year with the aim to enjoy retirement, don't think he's relaxing too much yet, however the repercussions to us and many others being that trips are now extremely expensive and cost prohibitive, when you add the cost of peg fee's at the fisheries, breakfast, tea and a few beers, the cost is now too high, so hence, this will be the last on Saturday (17/08/19).
For those who are on it, enjoy it, for those who can't make it, treasure the past memories and hope to see you on future matches (car trips of course).
13th August 2019 - Midweek League 2019 -Match Result

A few personal best catches were had by Alan and James on Cobhouse.
Alan also beat a match weight on Monkhall Fishery and got himself into the fishery records.
Due to recent holidays we have a backlog of match results, so see below for all the latest reports, leagues and where applicable match photo gallery.
You can also navigate to these pages to see all of our match results from previous seasons by using buttons at the side of the page.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of longtime club member, friend and ace raconteur Paul Rowlands aka ‘Roly’.
After a short illness he passed away in Whiston hospital at 5am last Saturday.
He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all those that knew him.
His dry wit, the talent to create parodies of songs with a fishing theme, tell great stories and could sing. A great bloke to know and a friend to all.
We now have details of Roly's funeral, which are as follows:-
Date - Tuesday 9th July 2019 at St Stephens Church, Orford, Warrington. which is located in Sandy Lane, Warrington, WA2 9HS. Time - 10.15am
Followed by internment at Fox Covert Cemetery, Red Lane, Appleton, Warrington, WA4 5LA, this is scheduled for 11.30am
At 1.00pm family and friends are welcome at the Maltings Pub, Bewsey Farm Close, Warrington, WA5 9PB to remember Roly, celebrate his life and have a drink for him.
If you wish to give flowers they will be welcome, or alternatively the family have set up a 'Just Giving' page which goes to Vasculitus UK, if you wish to make a donation, click on the link below.

Yesterday saw our annual team competition eloquently known as our 'Dogs Bollocks match', as the winner, is of course, the Dogs doodahs.
As ever, Partridge Lakes hosted the event for us (thanks Barbara & Dave), the teams this year with POHAS, were Eccles, Richmonds and Woolston.
Fair to say the weather was atrocious today with heavy rain, and a freezing wind blowing across the complex, so thanks to all forty eight anglers for turning up and putting up with the conditions the Almighty gave us today.
Congratulations to the winners Eccles, it was a very close match with Eccles edging out POHAS by one section win.
Click on the image alongside to view/download PDF of match results.
Look forward to doing it again in 2020, hopefully with more favourable weather - Tightlines.

Our annual team match with three other clubs takes place once again next month at Partridge Lakes.
Four teams of twelve will battle it out across the Partridge Lakes complex to see who is the Dogs Bollocks of angling this year.
A very sporting and friendly match for all those taking part.
You can see the POHAS team announced last week by team leaders Alan Lamb and James Bryan who with Mick Astbury, Mark Bibby, Lee Clarke, Mark Davies, Neil Davies, Rob Healey, Dave Hunt, Peter Newton, Dave Newton and Tony Savage will be fishing for us.
Note: Unfortunately due to injury Neil Davies unable to fish so a substitute will be found. Get well soon Neil.
Welcome everyone to 2019, sorry it's a bit late. Where did 2018 go? Well as far as our website is concerned it is archived, so to view any news from last year or previous years see the bar towards the top of this page and click on the available years (currently 2006 to 2018).
Happy New Year to everyone, see you fishing during 2019, Tightlines.
