Why an Intermediate League?

The idea behind the Intermediate League is to give our older Juniors (up to the age of eighteen) an additional competition that fits within the framework of our existing Junior and Senior matches, encourages their development and aids transition to the Adult League.
This Intermediate league is a brand new idea being tried in 2006. If successful it could become a permanent fixture in our calendar. So come on you budding Intermediate Anglers, let's make it a permanent fixture come along and take part.
If you want any more information contact us using the link on this page, or use the forum to discuss, adult match tickets go quick, so book early to avoid disappointment.

    • Any junior up to age 18 (during the season) is eligible to enter
    • League can run at both Junior and Adult matches, but is independent of them
    • Minimum number of contestants to take part is four
    • Points awarded as per adult league
    • Intermediate match, trophies awarded for 1st place in match only
    • First three places in final league standings will be awarded trophies at Presentation Night (13th October)
    • For adult matches venues anglers will also be eligible for that league, therefore in theory an intermediate player could win both matches, or win intermediate and get a place and score points in adult league. Should there be less than four Intermediate anglers at a venue, those members can continue and fish the match and be part of the adult league. Similar for junior matches however if over the junior age limit (17) this rule doesn’t apply
    • Aim of league is to encourage junior/teenage anglers to matches and offer them an additional challenge, the more matches deemed an intermediate match, the more points available, the more matches you fish, the more points you can gain for your final league place.
Peg Fees are match related, if fishing as an intermediate at a Junior match, there are no peg fees due as they are free entry for 2006.
For Intermediates in adult matches, adult peg fees apply (£10), except coach trips which are £30 entry. See matches for 2006 match venues / dates.
