First Summer match of 2017 and today we were at Weston Pools in Shropshire.
We were scheduled to fish the canal, but due to circumstances beyond our control we were on Clay Pit, a mile away from the main venue.
Nineteen members made the match today with many on holiday due to it tying in with May Bank Holiday and the schools being off.
Members met at 8.00am at main site and got bait and a brekkie.
We followed Richie down to Clay Pit, draw was done and we fished 11-4.
During the course of the match Colin as per usual broke some tackle and Phil Morris fell off his box and twisted his foot, he still fished the match though!
Weather today was sunny for the most part, getting up to 18 degree's which in the sun, was quite pleasant, if you were pegged in the shade, the breeze was a bit cool. We had a brief rain shower at 2.30pm which for some hampered the fishing.
Bait today was the usual Pellet, maggot, worm, caster, although we were told it was a pellet water.
The match concluded at 4pm, and Alan and Phil C conducted the weigh-in.
Below you can see the match results in order of weight. Congratulations to all those who fished today. Our Golden Peg today was Tony Savage who finished 9th and unfortunately was eight places away from winning £200. The curse continues.
As we have done from commencement of this year's Spring League we have broken match down into sections for the purposes of the Summer League and points awarded accordingly, so whilst below anglers are shown in order of weight, to see points awarded for Summer League purposes click on link above to see weigh sheet and section points.
