Hard to believe this is the penultimate match in this year's Winter League and again we are in Lancashire, this time at Wrightington Fishery.
Weather was more wintery today, never getting above seven degree's and with a strong North Easterly wind blowing seemed a lot colder. Fortunately the rain forecast earlier in the week never materialised, in fact for a large part of the day it was sunny.
Another fantastic turnout of twenty six anglers made the 8 o'clock call and after Alan and James sorted the pegging the draw took place at about 8.20am with the match being fished 10.00 - 3.00.
Mr Roby gave up on the conditions after about three hours, all other anglers stuck it out for the duration.
Presentation was a struggle for many today with the wind conditions and choppy surface, Tony Bennett managed to break a top two trying to land a Carp but managed to battle through to the end of the match securing a third place which was some comfort.
Bait today varied many getting some joy on pellet and maggot.
After the final hooter, the weigh-in was done and the results you can see below. Well done to all for coping with the conditions, to our top three of Rob, James and Tony B who walked away with the cash. Commiserations to Mark Davies who some thought was likely to win on Golden Peg, but the weigh-in proved otherwise, good effort nonetheless.
We can all thaw out now until our final Winter match which is also our fur & feather, this takes place at Partridge Lakes on Saturday 3rd December, so if you are on that, we will see you there.
