Midweek League - Blundell's Farm - Pine Canal - 17/05/16

Another great attendance in this the second midweek match with fourteen anglers keen to get fishing, on what was a glorious day with blue skies and an air temperature getting up to 19 degree's Centigrade (66 degree's Fahrenheit).
After our last match here a couple of weeks ago it was unsure how it would fish. Yours truly once again managed the draw and then sloped off to work while fourteen anglers sat in the sun!
The match was the usual five hours and Tony S managed the all-in which was at 10.00am with all-out sounding at 3.00pm.
The day passed by and upon my return at 2.45pm most anglers were cautious on what weights they had although word had it that Rob on peg 58 (end peg) had a good day.
All-out arrived and Jon Green had turned out to help with the weigh-in much appreciated Jon), and we started at peg 58. It was clear Rob had a good day netting 63lb 7oz, caught mostly on luncheon meat flavoured with garlic!
All others were weighed and you can see the results below, and pleased to say a marked improvement on the weights we had a couple of weeks ago, apparently most of Blundells Carp haven't spawned yet, likely due to the deeper water being cooler longer, let's hope we miss that on our next visit.
Due to lower peg fee cost here, meant more money in pools, so we paid out top four, well done to those that got some coinage.
So well done everyone who fished today, great day for Joe Fagan his best result for a while. You can take a look at the updated league by clicking here.
We move on to Lloyd's Meadow in three weeks for the next midweek match (7th June), before that we have a Summer Sizzler at Meadow View on 29th May and the first of our Summer League on Saturday 4th June when we are at Hampton Springs, so plenty of fishing coming up. For full match details, take a look on the relevant website pages.
Look forward to seeing you soon - Tightlines . . .
