Our first match in this year's 2015 Spring League took us to Border Fishery near Crewe, where we were on the match lake.
After a few days of near Summer weather conditions, it was back to usual Winter conditions today with an air temperature that maxed out at twelve Degree's C, but counteracted by a stiff breeze which brought the apparent temperature down and made fishing difficult for many.
As usual the troops had arrived by 8.00am where most were fed a hearty breakfast by Karl and the girls. Pegging was sorted by Alan, James and John with the assistance of Stewart from Bay Malton AC our hosts today at Border Fishery.
Had a brilliant turnout of twenty nine anglers today with the return of an old face Lee Clark and a new member Mark Bibby joining our merry band.
The draw took place at 8.30am and we fished our usual five hour match from 10.00am - 3.00pm.
Due to the strong winds today a few people broke sections, Colin on peg 20 broke a section on his Airity, Ray Wright on peg 28 also broke a section on his Maver and Joe Fagan on peg 32 decided to drop his phone in the lake which didn't do it any favours at all!
Ken drew Golden Peg today and again it stayed safe with an eighth place finish.
You can see the match results below and readers of our pohas fishing page on Facebook may also see reports from individual anglers on their day, so for more detail visit our Facebook page, just search for 'pohas fishing'.
Well done to our top three today John, Ray and Dave, and to all it was good to see everyone and hopefully we will see you in three weeks time when we will be at Heronbrook.
See you on a match soon.
