Last but one match for our Juniors this year and it's all still to play for in the Junior League.
Today we had our midweek match at Meadow View on Linnet Pool, all members on time at 9.30am. We welcomed new member Callum Settle and his parents to our merry bunch along with Dan, brother of Ellis who also had a dabble today.
Helping us as well as parents were Chairman Frank and members Ken, Mike and Roley along with me (Papperazzi Paul).
Other than a couple of sharp showers the weather stayed fine, got up to about 17 degree's with a slight breeze which wasn't enough to trouble anyone.
The draw was completed quickly and that gave the lads an extra 30 minutes fishing, so all-in was at 10.30am with all out at 2.00pm.
Must admit the first couple of hours were quite slow for many anglers, but picked up as the day went on. Usual baits Sweetcorn, Pellet and Maggot, some anglers favoured the pole, others had a chuck on the rod, particularly Ellis who secured third spot today.
Mid morning came along and Chairman Frank did a 'chippy run', they soon disappeared when he came back and the fishing seemed to pick up. Must've been the re-energised anglers!
All-out soon came and Roley took charge of the weigh-in.
The results you can see below and the league is still tight with both Ethan and Alex in with a shout of first place and several anglers are in with a chance of third spot.
So it's all to play for, our final Junior match is on 13th September at our Whitegate Pool (or Brownlee's if Whitegate water level too low). We will advise members if there is a venue change.
