First Spring League match for 2013 and a good contingent of anglers today with twenty two members and a few new faces today which was great to see.
Everyone assembled in the cafe at Cudmore and following the ritual breakfast the draw was organised, completed and the agreed all-in at 10.30am.
The morning weather was great with blue skies and plenty of sun, however the forecast was for the wind to pick up and rain to spread across by 2.00pm, which of course it did.
Sadly it was nothing like Fishomania for which this pool is used, but of course that doesn't take place in April! (Now we know why).
Fishing was tough today and it was clear when the results were completed where the fish were shoaling which was pegs 25 to 29.
A few Barbel and Carp did put in an appearance which made the weights slightly more respectable but nothing like we expected. Baits were across the range, no specific bait ruled today, and fishing light also appeared to be the best method.
Congratulations to all those who fished and to our top three of Ken, Mark and John. Golden Peg today was drawn by Joe Fagan on peg 2 which brought him no luck as Joe was one of six who blanked today. Better luck next time folks.
