Second Summer match and the weather Gods must have been smiling as apart from a light shower the day was cloudy with sunny intervals and a stiff breeze in parts, but certainly not the monsoons we had yesterday and earlier in the week. Air temperature was about 14 degrees and the breeze 14mph and above at times.
The draw took place at 8.30am and the match fished from 10.00am until 3.00pm. Most popular bait today seemed to be maggot or caster. As was expected the winning weights came from down the low peg number end as the wind was blowing in that direction.
We had a maximum of 22 anglers today and we had to disappoint five other anglers, due to the limited space, hopefully this issue won't arise on future matches.
Adam drew Golden peg today which as usual condemned him not to win and he finished in tenth position. Well done to our top three today Ste Tatlock his first win of the year, second Alan Lamb and third was James Bryan who had the best weight at the other end of the canal.
That's it for now, hope to see you on a match.
See you all soon......Tightlines.....
