The last of our series of three Winter Drizzler's and today we were in the picturesque Delamere Forest at Lloyd's Meadow on Badger Pool.
Given the weather recently we got off lucky with a dry day and an absence of the wet stuff, some sunshine, but a pesky blustery breeze which got up from time to time to give many anglers a tough day, especially the pole men, which was most of them.
Fifteen members came out to play today, others absent due to a certain Warrington v Bradford rugby league game. We welcomed new member Mark Davies who had a reasonable day as can be seen from the results below, hope you enjoyed your day Mark, look forward to seeing you at future matches.
Everyone was on time today so we held the draw and the match fished from 9.30am until 2.30pm.
Most anglers caught on various baits with the eventual winner Alan catching mainly on worm. Mike Lewis had a record amount of species, I swear some came from his garden pond (no they didn't only joking, before someone complains in a Jeremy Clarkson sort of way!). He had seven species which were Carp, Chub, Crucians, Roach, Skimmers. Tench and a very bright Goldfish (see photo gallery for proof).
Congratulations to all those fishing especially the top three who took the pools money, Alan with 39lb 14oz, Tom with 34lb 8oz and Adam 'Blossom' Hill with 29lb 5oz. Places in match judged on usual match points 10 for 1st down to 1 point for 10th. Fishing and species points added later for inclusion to calculate final Winter Drizzler league placings.
