First Spring League match for 2012 and the weather was more like Winter with an air temperature of only 4 degrees Celsius.
Twenty members braved the Lancashire air and for a brief spell blue skies gave us some sunshine which soon clouded with an occasional sprinkle of the wet stuff! After a delayed start due to members getting lost on the highways and byeways, we eventual made the draw and the match fished from 10.00am until 3.00pm. Fishing was very sporadic and maggot or meat seemed to be the best way of catching a fish today. Colin the coach driver managed to break a section of his new pole so he wasn't best pleased.
The eventual winning weight was 49lb 4oz which is less than the 70+ that won on the Thursday previously. We had however had a couple of nights where the temperature dropped a lot lower, which probably accounted for low weights today.
Jim Bates drew the Golden Peg today which wasn't won so that carry's over.
Below you can see the full list of weights for the match.
Congratulations to our top three of Alan, Mike and Adam.
Good to see new faces and returning ones (Peter, Tom).
That's it for now,
See you all soon......Tightlines.....
