Final match in this year's Winter league and we were at Meadow View in Lymm.
Had a great turnout of 21 members today which I think was helped by the fact that as tradition disctates at this our Fur & Feather match, we go for a carvery to celebrate another year of fishing.
The weather was traditionally Wintery with a maximum temperature of nine degree's but felt nothing like that with a stiff Westerly breeze that was blowing sometimes in strong gusts across the pool.
Originally we had intended to fish Linnet pool, but with the turnout we had a decision was taken thanks to Dave at Meadow View to fish the bigger Lark Pool. Decision made the draw took place in the warmth of the cabin and the match was to be fished from 9.30am until 2.30pm.
Golden Peg today was won by Ian McNamara who was cursed into 14th position today.
As it was Christmas (nearly) everyone received a selection pack which most seemed to have devoured before the end of the match!
All-out came thankfully at 2.30pm and the weigh-in was done by our referee Paul Rowlands aka Roly.
Congratulations to all who fished today and throughout the series of Winter League matches. In particular well done to our top three today of Kev, Frank & James. Well done to Frank for getting biggest fish so far this season at today's match, Frank hauled out a 13lb Carp. We will have to wait for the start of the Spring League in April for the chance of this being beaten.
Well done to Alan Lamb our Winter League 2011 winner with a total of 39 points, close behind in second was James Bryan with 34 points and in third place Kev Smith with 29 points.
That's it for now,
See you all soon......Tightlines.....
