Last coach trip of 2010 Summer League and also our penultimate match. Today we were borderline Nottinghamshire/South Yorkshire at Hallcroft Fishery. Fifteen anglers made the journey which started with a healthy full English brekkie in the cafe at Hallcroft.
We were on Bridge Pool today, after the draw, 'all-in' was set at 10.30am to give everyone a chance to buy bait, get to their peg and set up.
Kev Smith drew the Golden Peg which as you keen readers may know, went at the last match to John Mysiak. This match, back to normal, the money was safe and Kev managed 6th place today.
Fishing looked like it was going to be good, however as they say, looks can be deceiving, everyone struggled today to get a Carp, as you will see from the weights below, not many got one!
The weather was kind to us, starting off sunny and clouding over as the day went by. The air temperature a nice 21 degrees, with a light breeze which didn't cause any problems.
Well done to everyone today, especially our top three who were Mike, Adam and Darren.
After the match it was off to the King & Miller pub in Retford for a few pints, some grub and a game or two of killer pool, which Mike also won!
We dragged ourselves back on the coach at 7pm for a two hour journey home.
We also held our 'Pairs Match' today and the pairs were drawn out of the hatand are as shown below. As we had an odd number fishing, the person left at the end doubles his weight, as you can see today was Paul Roby who actually caught 6lb 6oz, for the purposes of the pairs match this counts as 12lb 12oz. Well done to Mike and Jim who are this year's winners.
Next match, which is our final Summer match of 2010 is on Saturday 18th September at Brookside Fishery, Warrington, and we are fishing on Mallard Pool. Don't forget if you are fishing this match, you need to be at the venue by 7.30am as we are fishing 9.00am - 2.00pm. We have to be out for 2pm. Hope to see you there...
