First of three matches in this year's Spring League.
We had an excellent turn out today with 28 anglers fishing the match.
It was nice to see some new faces, so welcome to Alan and Roy Sutton, Mike Roylance and Andy Shaw we hope you enjoy the fishing and the banter. We also had two of our Junior members invited along to "test the water", so welcome to Chris Dolan and Mike Davies.
Everyone arrived on time at 8.00am, it was nice to have Clear blue skies and wall to wall sunshine. A cool breeze to start which seemed to warm up and drop slightly as the day progressed, air temperature got to about 15°C/60°F.
Due to the turn out we ended up having to split the match across two pools. Originally we had booked Covey 3, in the end we had Covey 3 & 4. We would like to express our thanks to Partridge Lakes Fishery for allowing us the ability to use another pool to cope with the numbers.
The match fished from 9.45 - 2.45, almost everyone caught so the day passed quite quickly.
No major events happened throughout the match unless you count a mad swan a brood of Hens and a Rooster patrolling the fishery. The swan in particular has a fetish for feed pellets so some of our members found out, with the chickens preferring sweetcorn.

James Bryan was the poor unfortunate today who drew the Golden Peg, which if he had won would have given him £190, of course 'the curse' came into play and the money was safe. We are now up to the maximum of £200 after today's match, which will be available at the next match, will it go.....be there to find out, it could be you! As they say in Lottery land.
