Our last Summer match of 2009 and also the concluding match in the 2008/9 matchman.
Today we were at Bradshaw Hall near Bolton on Pool 4. We has 21 members fish the match today, and it was great to see one of our Junior members Josh Waring taking his first steps in the Senior League, and a great effort he made to, well done Josh!
'All-in' was a leisurely 10.00am today with the usual 5 hour match. The weather was a pleasant 17 degree's with some sun in the morning, clouding over by lunchtime and a light shower during the afternoon which fortunately stopped in time for the weigh-in. No breeze to talk about so quite a pleasant day.
Plenty of snags were found in and around pool 4 by many of the members, so for some it was a day for lost tackle, fortunately nothing too expensive was lost or damaged during the match.
Congratulations to everyone today, especially Alan who with this match win secured the Matchman as well as the Summer League Division One.
Hard luck to James who fought to the end, it was nip and tuck throughout the match.
Golden Peg today was our Chairman Frank Davies, and he saved the club £200 by finishing in 10th place...
That's it for the 2009 matches, but it all starts again with the Winter League which kicks off at Lathom Fishery on Pool 1 on Saturday 10th October.
Before that we have our Presentation Evening at our usual venue 'Roosters Club' on Friday 2nd October starting at 7.30pm where we will be presenting all the trophies, hope to see you all there...
