The first in our Seniors Summer League for 2009 saw us at Blake Hall near Cheadle, Stoke-On-Trent.
What's great about this venue is that you can park by your peg, which saves hiking up hill and down dale, which is usually the case!
The weather was generally overcast with a few flurries of rain but nothing much, however a breeze was present throughout the day and which picked up from time to time affecting some pegs more than others.
We had twenty one members fish the match who all tucked into a hearty breakfast before proceedings got under way.
After feeding time the draw took place. Today Graham Wibberley drew the Golden Peg, and again the money stayed in the bank til' the next time.
All-In was at 10.00am and battle commenced until 3.00pm.
Most methods were tried by all anglers throughout the match including the pole and ledger which seemed the favourite options.
Baits varied, John Bryan our eventual match winner today off peg 53 used 8mm pellets on the pole to bag his 50lb 2oz.
Below you will find the results for all those who fished.
The next match is our first coach trip of the season which is to Ockeridge near Worcester. This match is a Friday match, so if your fishing it, don't forget! It takes place on Friday 3rd July.
Look forward to seeing you there... |
