Last match of the Summer League 2008 took place on Cudmore today under blue skies. The first true Summer weather on what was the last Summer match, somewhat of an irony there!
The match had been changed to Brewsters Canal a week ago due to issues with the water on Suez Canal. Upon arrival today we were given the option, so we decided to go on Suez as originally intended.
You will see from the weights below it didn't fish very well, but it did make for a close match, at least the weather was good.
John Green, second match in to his renaissance managed a creditable sixth place which didn't help him as he had Golden Peg today but still a solid performance. The clear winner today was Ian Armstrong with 18lb 12oz, well done Ian.
All the results are now finalised for this year's Matchman and Summer League winners, look forward to seeing you all at our Presentation Night at Roosters on Friday 3rd October where all the Trophies will be awarded.
After that it is time to drag out your Winter woolies as the Winter League starts on Saturday 11th October at Partridge Lakes, look forward to seeing you all there...
