Last of our three coach trips this year and to be honest i think we were all disappointed. Several members have fished here as recent as August and the 'Duck Pool' fished well.Today was a different matter!
It got off to a bad start when one of our members overslept (Lewis) and delayed the coach by half an hour.
Spirits were still high on the coach and we arrived at Solhampton at about 8.30am where we all dived towards Daisy's Diner to get breakfast.
After some sustainance we did the draw and 'all in' was at 10.30am with the usual five hour match we fished until 3.30pm.
It was a non eventful match with weights being poor, even the winning weight was poor from the past experiences we had of this pool, the Wednesday match prior to our arrival enjoying 100+ lb's.
We did get the biggest fish so far for the seniors this year, and we had two people catching fish with exactly the same weight of 10lb 7oz.
So the current biggest fish is in the joint hands of Alan Lamb and Frank Davies, could it go at Meadow View, see you there to find out on Saturday 22nd September.
The cursed Golden Peg this week was Kev Smith who managed ninth place with 5lb 10oz.
After the fishing the day improved as we went to the Black Star pub in Stourport for food, drink, football and Rugby. Thanks to Jez and his staff for the welcome, good food and decent ale......We even won at the Football and Rugby, come on England!
Journey home went a bit downhill with our Chairman deciding to take the back roads instead of the motorway, then as we neared home our driver 'young Brian' decided to turn South on the M6 instead of North.
Eventually arriving home at 10.15pm.....What a day! See you at the next match on 22nd September.
