The latest match and our second coach trip saw us on 'Island Pool' at Moorlands Farm. With 23 members fishing it was the most we have had on a coach trip for quite a while, and it was fun loading all the tackle on the coach!
We arrived at about 8.15am, with everybody piling into the cafe for breakfast, we then had the draw and the match started at 10.00am.
Weather conditions were good at about 22 degrees with a South Westerley breeze and slightly overcast conditions.
It has to be said that the weights for this match were disappointing, however everyone caught.
This was also our pairs match and the details and winners are shown below.
Our friend Bill had an entertaining day, with some wit amongst us saying "he was in the tree's more often than Tarzan!"
The Golden peg at this match fell to Joe Fagan, and as is the norm these days, it remained elusive yet again.
After the weigh-in we all boarded the coach and went to Stourport to find refreshment! After a detour in Stourport, our very able coach driver Colin aka 'Young Brian' proved his driving skills manouvering in some spaces you wouldn't want to put a car!......We all then fell into Wetherspoons for food and drink, before driving up the M5/M6 and arriving home at 9.00pm. Where some members (papperazzi included) disappeared into our local until 1.00am (will we never learn).
The next match is at Fir Tree Fishery on 18th August, the saga continues there.... |
