| Well, what an amazing day this was.... The committee were having hot sweats today, the turnout for this match was fantastic. However, we have to make one apology to those who were eligible for an 'intermediate league' match. In particular, Alan, Dan, James & Pete. Due to the high turnout and the fact that Birchwood Anglers sent six of their members to fish, we had to forgoe the Intermediate match, as we could not get them all on the one lake! Apologies, but it will be going ahead at the next Junior match (Dunham Fishery 12/08/06). Back to this Junior league match, we had nineteen members fishing along with six from Birchwood, this was a total of 25 which filled every available peg. Listed below are only POHAS members as the points and positions relate to the Junior League. We did have a match against Birchwood, by putting their six members against our current top six of: Jack Wright, James Cliff, Dan Gore, Hannah Rowlands, Josh Turner and Ashley Pilling. We won based on total weight 23lb 1oz against Birchwood's 16lb 14oz. Many thanks to all those who fished, senior members who assisted and provided transport (Frank, Mike, Joe, Taffy, Paul R and Paul B). Thanks to Frank and Taffy for getting the food. Thanks to John Burgoyne of Birchwood Anglers for his help. Look forward to a return match at a venue of Birchwood's choice next year. |
