The fourth in a series of five matches took place today.
With it being the 'Fur & Feather' it is the last match of 2006 and seasonal festivities were the order of the day.
All members fishing received a 'Turkey' and were also treated to a mince pie and a tot of whiskey to keep the cold out!
The weather today started OK with blue skies, but it wasn't long before the showers appeared and the occasional flurry of hail.
Everyone caught with the highest weight being 2lb 10oz 8drm and the lowest 5oz 4drm.
Congratulations to the top three of Ian Armstrong (2lb 10oz 8drm), Neil Davies (1lb 9oz) and Mike Lewis (1lb 3oz 8drm).
We also had £10 drinks vouchers for section winners today, so congratulations also to Ken Whibley, Taffy Robinson, James Bryan and Paul Rowlands. Phil Clare also won a second turkey for being last!
The Golden Peg yet again remained safe as it has all year, with the unfortunate Joe Fagan being given this accolade. Joe managed to finish in sixth place.
With it being the last match before Christmas those members that could retired to the nearby Walton Arms Pub for refreshment and a nice hot carvery.
That's it for 2006, have a great Christmas and New Year, we will be back fishing the last of our Winter League matches on the Macclesfield Canal on Saturday 20th January. Hope to see you there...
