Another match done. Two down one to go in this years Spring League.
It was a close fought contest with under 6lb between 1st and 3rd place.
It has to be said we didn't have the best weather, with a few early sharp showers, overcast skies and an air temperature of only about 15°c compared to the sun of the last few days and temperatures of 21°c. It was almost a return to Winter conditions.
This match as well as being the second of our Spring League fixtures for 2006 was also the 2006 Committee Shield Match, so plenty to play for.
Not too many traumas today with fishing equipment, although a few rigs were lost due to various sources of vegetation.
James managed to lose his catapult, but was recovered later when weighing in as it had fell in the landing net!
We had no seperate weighs for biggest fish, but the 9lb 5oz Carp caught by Neil Davies at Lloyds Meadow still stands.
As it was FA Cup Final day everyone made a rapid exit at the end of the match, so the initial pub visit didn't take place, (ah well, next time eh!).
We had 16 members fishing today, 7 of those were our intermediate league anglers, who also have a very close scoreline in their league.
The 'curse of the Golden Peg' continues. This time for John Mysiak who unfortunately didn't have quite enough to secure the £200. We wait till the next match in two weeks at Blundells Farm (27/05/06). Don't forget if you are not booked on it, and you want to be there, you need to speak to Frank Davies at your earliest opportunity.
Well, that's it till the next match, well done to all those taking part, see you at Blundells Farm hopefully. Once again the full list of results are below.....
